Crab, Cookies and Bubble Wrap

Last Friday Josie and I met the Wileys at the Seattle waterfront for lunch. Josie was so excited when all the crab legs, mussels and clams (still in their shells) were thrown down on the table in a big pile right in front of her. She tried the seafood but mostly just ate french fries and ketchup.

This week Josie and I made Valentine's Day cookies together. We did this at Halloween too and I can't believe the difference a few months makes. She actually did help this time. She helped cut out the hearts...

LOVED shaking the sprinkles on the cookies
but her favorite part was licking the beaters

San Diego

We spent another wonderful week in San Diego. This was our second year in a row going down there in the winter. Just like last year this year's trip was easy, sunny, relaxing and fun. The hotel had a great pool and because no one else used it but us the entire time it felt like our own private pool.
We ended up walking just about everywhere. We spent some time down at Seaport Village where they were having an environmental awareness display with many different types of globes and ways to decrease the rate of global warming.

Josie was fascinated by the huge kites there were being flown there. The man who own this kite was kind enough to pull it down far enough so that Josie could (tentatively) touch it.
Legoland was a HUGE hit. Josie was pretty overwhelmed at the beginning but she warmed up the the amusement park thing after an hour or two.

Josie went crazy for this climbing fort. She must have gone up and down all the "chutes and ladders" at least 10 times. We all walked away with bruises on our legs after this one.
In "Miniland" they had created a replica of Washington DC during Obama's inauguration. The photos don't do it justice. The detail was amazing.
All of us went on a roller coaster. Josie was very stoic during the ride but as soon it was over she said, "let's do it again!" Thankfully, it was later in the day and most everyone else had already left the park. We were able to get off the ride and walk right back on. No lines at all.

Josie and Marty on an airplane ride:

You can't really tell from the video but when you ran over the dots on the ground it made the music and water go. This was the end of the day and Josie was VERY tired... as were we.

Everynight we were in SD we ended up a frozen yogurt place. After she ate most of both mine and Marty's yogurt she got bored with our conversation and decided to read a magazine.
