Summer is here... finally. A long bath and a bit of moping followed.

Date Night
Our "date nights" have certainly changed. Our neighbor organizes a fancy Dads and Daughters Dance every year as a fundraiser for Hope and Healing. It is a nice dinner, dancing and other festivities at the top of the Columbia Tower. Marty decided to take Josie this year and so I decided Benjamin and I would have a date night, too. Here is the one and only picture of our date night. He pretty much slept, ate and pooped the whole night. Not really all that eventful.
Josie and Marty on the otherhand, got all dressed up.
And took the water taxi.

They ran up the steep hills downtown to make it to the event on time.
There were a lot of things going on. One of them was a man drawing cartoon sketches of the girls. Josie is waiting patiently for her sketch to be drawn. I should scan in the final product. It looks nothing like her. Marty says it looks like she is a television news anchor.
And then there was the dancing.
Let's just say that she gets her dancing "skills" from her father :) Maybe the ballet classes will help.
They also had a big raffle. Josie even had to call me when she first got there to tell me about the "big dolls" that she was going to win. Here she is patiently waiting for her name to be called.
It was obviously her first experience with a raffle and she was crushed when her name wasn't called. So heartbreaking to see (or hear about it second hand) tears welling up in her eyes as she says "they didn't call my name"

Here she is just warming up
Starting to get into it. Apparently, she was mesmerized by the lights.
And finally dancing so hard she has to hand off the corsage they gave her to Marty.

But in their wisdom, they had parting gift bags for everyone and she was very happy with all of the candy, stickers and other fun goodies that she got in her gift bag.
The event was a big success, too. They raised over $45,000 to go towards breat cancer treatment.

Josie's Ballet "Recital"
Josie had her final ballet class week before last. She really enjoyed the class and is signed up for another class for July.
After class Josie's teacher came over and said Josie was a really good listener and really appreciated having her in class because she was one of the only ones who actually listened. The rest of the girls just pranced around kind of crazy in their tutus and didn't really listen to what the teacher was saying.
You can see at the end of this video that all the other girls just run off but Josie patiently waits to see what she is supposed to do next. Although she has her own mind and is quite spirited with us it is nice to know that she knows when she needs to listen and when she should...well, she should still listen to us, I suppose but it was a nice compliment.

6 weeks and Tummy Time
Our little man is already 6 weeks old!!
Around 5 weeks he started to smile. Now he really gets into it. SOOO cute!!

Josie and Benjamin are still "getting along" great. She ALWAYS wants to be wherever he is. Which is cute until she wants to be where he is when he's sleeping :(
The other day she wanted to do tummy time with him. She included the "fake Fritz" and Gretel in on the exercises.
The other day I found her babies face down on a blanket. She explained to me that they were doing their tummy time.

Girls Weekend in Bellingham
Last weekend the kids and I headed up to Bellingham for a weekend getaway with friends. My sister, Kim, and her family whole heartedly welcomed Josie into their family activities for the weekend. THANK YOU WILEYS!!! We ALL had a great time.
Here is Josie with her two cousins, Jon and Drew.
