More Merry Christmas

The day after Christmas we had our traditional German Christmas Eve down at Oma and Opa's. We all filled up on German hot dogs and delicious potato salad. Even postponing it a few days because of snow still didn't ensure clear and safe roads for Liz and her family. It was a huge (and much appreciated) effort to get from their house in Snohomish to Oma and Opa's in Kent. It took them over 2 hours when it normally takes them 1. On the way home they even slid off the bridge and landed in a ditch. Thankfully no one was hurt and someone was there to pull them out. Other than the drive, the rest of the celebration was very relaxing and fun.

Just as we suspected, now that the snow has melted and the temps are above freezing, Josie can't get enough of her new swingset.

The photo above is at Alki Beach with Seattle lights in the background. It is nice to finally get outside and see the ground and grass again.

On Sunday, we continued celebrating Christmas up in Bellingham with my parents and my sister and her family. Josie enjoyed spending time with her cousins, Grandma and Papa and Aunt Kim and Uncle Fred. She opened more gifts in Bellingham. She has thoroughly been enjoying all of her new toys. Because Christmas and gift opening was so spread out this year everyday when she wakes up she asks if she can open more presents.... how do you explain to a 2 year old that opening gifts only happens a couple times a year?
