A couple days after the black ice we had full fledged snow! It was only a half of an inch or so but it was really pretty and calming. We decided to walk the entire way to school through the park rather than take a bus so that they could play in the snow before school as the weather forecast predicted it to warm up and all be melted by noon.
Both kids have been super sad that we haven't had much snow here this winter and the fact that Seattle has had much more than normal has not helped matters at all.
The kids put on (or I made them put on) all of their snow clothes. Snow pants, hats, gloves, snow boots. The works!! I brought with me a change of clothes for when we got to school.
We left 20 minutes early so that we wouldn't be rushed and it was lovely. They threw snow balls at each other, they made snow babies and then snow angels.
The park was peaceful and quiet. We got to school with just enough time to change out of the (overkill) snow clothes and into normal winter clothes. I rushed back home to drop off the wet snow clothes and grab my school bag and rushed off to German class myself. Snow commute > Black Ice commute
On the way home from school that day we decided to get haircuts.. well, the kids at least. Snow was all melted by then and it was back to winter as usual with just a few patches of melted snow
