Spring Forward

I''m jumping ahead a bit here with this post but will fill in the gaps for January and February soon. Every year I take note of when the daffodils bloom in our front yard and think, "ah, spring is on its way!"  Here is last year's post in which I mention that they were in full bloom on March 11th. Spring came a bit early this year when  on Valentine's Day Josie wanted to give me flowers.  A very sweet sentiment until I realized that she had picked almost all of the recently but not quite bloomed daffodil buds.  Here they are in the photo above in her sweet little hands. So, I guess spring was here in our house as early as February 14th.  But there were a few small daffodils that she missed that were tucked under a tree.  These popped up in the ground on March 1st.

Our yard looks a bit green with only the greens of the daffodils and the sparse baby daffodils above them.It looks like there might be a large daffodil or two that she missed but she was pretty thorough.   I'm hoping to enjoy the tulips from the ground in which they are planted and not the tiny buds brought in the house a couple weeks early.  The weather is beginning to change here and is its typical crazy Seattle spring type weather most days. This Saturday we officially "spring ahead" by setting our clocks ahead.  Can't believe winter is almost over. Happy Spring everyone :)
