Three Day Vacay

 The film "Sleeping with Siri" has been accepted into various film festivals over the past year and Marty and Michael have been traveling to most of them.  They got word that it was accepted into the prestigious Hollywood Film Festival and the film makers that were accepted into this festival also were able to attend the Hollywood Film Awards
After much deliberation and a very gracious offer from Liz and Ed to watch the kids, we decided to take our first trip without the kids since... well, having kids 7+ years ago!
We had a blast!!! It was one of those trips where everything just goes right.  From the very beginning of the trip when Marty left the iPad at the gate in Seattle when he boarded the plane and I show up several hours later for my flight and find it to the very end of the trip where I am able to sneak into the Film Awards sans ticket. It was perfect from start to finish.
During the day we went on long walks at Santa Monica and Venice Beaches and ate yummy food.

Each night we had some event connected to the Film Festival or Film Awards.  The first night we were there Sleeping with Siri was shown and then there was a Q&A afterward. 

 The following night was the Film Festival Awards.  The film didn't win anything but just being accepted was a huge honor.  They had over 3,500 entries and only a couple dozen were accepted.  Below is a photo of Michael with the actual winners.

 We also walked to breakfast each morning and then detoured and meandered and just took our time because we had no place to be and no one was melting down.  This was near where we stayed.  If you look closely you can see the famous Hollywood sign above my head in the hills.

We had such a fun and relaxing 3 days together.  We missed the kids, of course, and it was good to be home once we returned but it was a great little three day getaway.   Hollywood Film Awards coming up next....
