While The Cats Were Away...

The mice definitely played.  While Marty and I were in LA the kids spent a fun 3 day weekend up at Liz and Ed's.  They always LOVE going up there partly because they do really fun activities like this pumpkin patch below but mostly because they are unconditionally loved and they know it.  Thanks again, Ed and Liz. Before I left I took this photo of the kids in the car before dropping them off with Liz. As if you can't tell they are VERY excited for their weekend away.  I, on the other hand, was quite nervous to leave them for the first time.

Josie has been going to this pumpkin patch with Liz and Ed since she was just over 1.  Below they are trying to recreate this picture... look at her feet and how blonde she use to be!

 Race!!
 Jump!!

They went through a corn maze that was the shape of Washington state.  Josie apparently led the way.
Since I wasn't there I had Josie look at these pictures and tell me what to say.  She said here Benjamin was back with Ed and "his stubby feet"
 Children of the Corn....
 Riding around a track
Riding on the tractor train.  Josie tells me that Benjamin was a little scared and didn't want to go so she rode with him in the only pink car.  She was really happy and proud to be in the only pink one.  Not sure how Benjamin felt about that.  Although having an older sister, he is very comfortable with his pink feminine side.

 Going down a big slide.
Benjamin was scared to go down the big ones so Josie paved the way by going down the short tunnel ones first and he refused to go down the "big scary" ones.
But he LOVED the little one.

Josie the ever doting bigger sister.  Josie says "I asked him if he wanted to go up and he said 'yes' and then I brought him up and when I brought him up and we were going through the thing at the top he said 'I don't want to be up here I want to go down' and then I said well  why don't we go down the slide to get down and he said 'No!, I don't want to go that way!' Then what happened was we went down and then he said he wanted to go back up again and then once I brought him up again he said he didn't want to go that way.  Then I gave him one last chance.  I asked him if he wanted to go on the slide or don't want to go on the slide.  I said this was his last chance.  He decided he wanted to go down the stairs.  So I brought him to Liz and Ed and then I went down the slide by myself"

Josie: "I went fishing and even caught a fish.  I put it back in the water though.  It was a huge one!"  Benjamin says: "Why did you put it back in? You are supposed to cook it!!

At the end they picked out pumpkins.... such a fun day!!
