Josie is quite adept at making new friends. She is constantly talking about her new friends and inviting them over after school or going to their houses. One of her new classmates and friends, Aurora, (who also happens to be the girl we saw at the hairdresser who inspired Josie to get her hair cut) happens to literally live right around the corner from our house. In fact, our backyards kind of butt up against each other. Since we have arrived we have been hearing kids playing over the fence but we can't really see them. They sound to be having fun and speaking in mostly German. Come to find out it was Aurora and her brother Nils that we had been hearing. And then we find out that Nils is also in 2nd grade at the same school!!
The other day the 4 of them hung out here for a few hours. Lots of laughs, lots of game playing and solid friendships are forming!!
Today Josie comes home and says she is going over to Aurora's. I ask if Nils wants to come over here? She says no, that they want Benjamin to join them at their house and they want to do an every other day swap!
And to top it off, Benjamin likes Nils and was more than happy to go! Again, if you knew Benjamin at all you would know why this is exciting and shocking. They just left and as I was walking Josie's bike back to our make-shift bike shed I could hear my kids through the fence happily arriving at their friend's house. HEAVEN!!!
